About Azithromycin Tablet

Azithromycin Tablet is an antibiotic formulation which is indicated to be used for the treatment of middle ear infection, strep throat, and pneumonia. Active compound present in this tablet has C38H72N2O12 with the molar mass of 748.984 g/mol. This medicine is known to work by binding to 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome while inhibiting mRNA translation. It is said to have a bioavailability of 38% and is metabolized in the liver. Azithromycin Tablet belongs to azalide class of antibiotics and assures targeted mode of action with superior effectiveness. It shows elimination half-life of 11 to 14 hours and is excreted from the kidney. In combination with other medications, azithromycin is also used for the treatment of malaria.
